Fighting Engagement Bait on Facebook

Facebook’s new crack down on spam and click-bait benefits users and local businesses who use Facebook and Instagram for credible marketing.

Click bait, tag bait, comment bait, survey bait, and all that is the old game. Truly relevant and authentically engaging content is the way forward.  Local business have that “relevancy” advantage.

How will this impact Pages? Publishers and other businesses that use engagement bait tactics in their posts should expect their reach on these posts to decrease. Meanwhile, Pages that repeatedly share engagement bait posts will see more significant drops in reach.
